The Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA is located in the heart of downtown Wilkes-Barre and has been a community staple since 1863. Affectionately known as “The Y,” they’re part fitness facility, part childcare center, and all heart.

The Y is famous for their wellness programs. Their facility is home to a fitness center, pool, and gymnasiums. Their program schedule is packed with group exercise classes, sports leagues, and other fun activities to help the entire family get active. They also offer chronic disease prevention programs.

Beyond health and wellness, the Y is also a childcare center offering pre-school, daycare, and before and after school programs. Kids have access to tutoring services, nutritious snacks, and fun activities.

The Wilkes-Barre YMCA offers several membership options. No one is turned away for inability to pay, and financial assistance is available.

The Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA also owns and operates Camp Kresge, a 1,100-acre facility in the Pocono Mountains situated on the banks of Beaver Lake. Programs include parent/child and children’s camping weekends, day and overnight camps, and outdoor education. Camp Kresge is also ideal for conferences and retreats.
