Hiking & Fishing in the Poconos

The Rail Gap Nature Preserve is a 61.5-acre property located just south of Bartonsville, now permanently protected by Pocono Heritage Land Trust. This preserve boasts Class A Wild Trout Waters on a pristine section of Pocono Creek. You’ll also spot colonies of spring wildflowers, thickets of old-growth rhododendron, and humbling groves of Pennsylvania’s state tree, the eastern hemlock.

History buffs will enjoy walking the path left behind by the old Wilkes-Barre & Eastern (WB&E) Railroad, which transported coal, ice, and passengers between Wilkes-Barre and Stroudsburg from 1893 to the 1930s.
