Scenic and Historic Hiking

Take a walk through history at the Port Clinton Towpath Trail. Located just west of the Port Clinton playground, this path makes for a great hike. Originally used to tow canal boats in the 19th century, the Towpath Trail is a historic site in its own right.

The trail is a moderate 1 ¾ mile walk along the Schuylkill River’s edge. The mostly flat dirt path leads hikers across the remnants of four locks, beautiful waterfalls, and rock formations. Check out the Port Clinton Towpath Trail for unique scenic views embedded with history.
