Plenty of Space to Play and Relax
With 840 acres of land, Merli-Sarnoski Park in Fell Township is a great place to hike, bike, play, picnic, or just relax. The park was dedicated in 1978 and is named after Gino Merli and Joseph Sarnoski, two Lackawanna County Congressional Medal of Honor recipients.
The park includes a 35-acre lake with a sandy beach area (and bath houses) for swimming, fishing, or boating. There are many fields for playing sports—basketball, volleyball, soccer—and participating in recreational activities. Two pavilions and picnic areas with tables and charcoal grills provide the perfect spot to relax.
Its eight-mile cross-country mountain bike trail is ideal for cyclists.
