Merli-Sarnoski Park in Fell Township spans 840 acres and offers a wide variety of outdoor recreation for visitors of all ages. Named in honor of Congressional Medal of Honor recipients Gino Merli and Joseph Sarnoski, this Lackawanna County park has been a beloved local destination since its dedication in 1978.

Whether you’re visiting for an active day outdoors or a quiet family picnic, Merli-Sarnoski Park has plenty of space to explore. The park features a 35-acre lake with a sandy beach area, perfect for summer swimming. Bath houses are conveniently located nearby, and the lake is open for fishing, boating and kayaking.

The park is a favorite for fall foliage hikes and year-round adventure. It features hiking and biking trails, including an eight-mile cross-country mountain biking trail that winds through the forest. These scenic paths provide an excellent way to experience NEPA’s natural beauty, especially during peak fall color.

For sports and group activities, the park offers basketball, volleyball and soccer fields. Two covered pavilions and multiple picnic areas with tables and charcoal grills provide a great space for reunions, celebrations or a simple lunch outdoors.
