“Plants With a Purpose”

Lessie’s Garden in Pottsville is a greenhouse and gift shop with a special mission. The shop is a program of Avenues, a human services organization serving local people with developmental and acquired disabilities. Through Lessie’s, adults with disabilities can learn new skills, gain experience, and grow in confidence.

One of the busiest times of year at Lessie’s is the spring planting season. They offer starter plants for vegetables and herbs. They also have gorgeous perennials, annuals, and hanging baskets. Handmade decorations and upcycled treasures make perfect, one-of-a-kind gifts.
