Lehigh Gorge Trail
White Haven, PA
Sports & Outdoors: Hiking & Biking
Follow the River and Rails
Hike, bike, or run the Lehigh Gorge Trail, a 26-mile rail trail that stretches from White Haven to Jim Thorpe. The trail follows the Lehigh River, where you’ll spot whitewater rafters, historic canal locks, and scenic waterfalls.
The best way to see the entire trail is by bike. The fine gravel surface and slight downgrade make it accessible for a wide range of ages and skill levels. No bike? No worries. Pocono Biking and Pocono Bike Rental (both located in White Haven and Jim Thorpe) offer rentals and shuttle services.
The Lehigh Gorge Trail is located within Lehigh Gorge State Park, which is open year-round. It is also part of the 165-mile D&L Trail. Parking is available at the White Haven, Rockport, and Glen Onoko access points.
Accessibility
The trail has a crushed stone path and gentle 2% uphill grade heading north. It also provides opportunities for handcycling.
