Hoyt Library | Historic charm & modern resources in Kingston

Hoyt Library in Kingston blends over 100 years of local history with the innovation of a modern community resource center. Located on Wyoming Avenue and part of the Luzerne County Library System, this library is known for its beautifully restored original building, which contrasts seamlessly with a sleek, modern addition completed in 2009. This combination of past and present reflects the library’s mission to serve generations of learners with both tradition and technology.

With a library card, members can check out books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, and access ebooks compatible with Apple, Kindle, Nook, and Android devices. The Hoyt Library also provides digital access to research databases, periodicals, and online articles through its website. Public computers and free Wi-Fi are available for use during library hours.

Year-round programs engage the community through story time sessions, book discussion groups, adult coloring, math classes, and art activities. The library also features Alice’s Closet, a second-hand boutique offering clothing and home goods. All proceeds support the library’s ongoing mission.

Hoyt Library continues to be a vital hub for education, enrichment, and connection in the Kingston community.
