Pancakes Nearly as Big as the Moon

This adorable diner in the far northern reaches of NEPA serves up homemade, country-style breakfast to-die-for. Dutton’s Tyler Hill Diner in northeastern Wayne County earned its stripes as a go-to morning stop by dishing out heaping plates of breakfast classics. The menu is short and sweet, like a proper diner menu should be. And the décor is cute and quaint with an understated country charm. Dutton’s is a true, hot griddle breakfast joint. And they’re only open until about lunch time every day.

Menu Highlights

If you’re smart, you’ll come hungry. Dutton’s griddle masters have made a name for themselves with their mountainous piles of home fries topped with runny eggs and buttery toast. They dish out delicious French Toast, sides of crispy bacon and thick, crusty sausage patties. But it’s the giant pancakes flopping over the sides of your plate that’ll keep you coming back. You can get them plain, chocolate chip, with bananas, blueberries or peaches. And, for a little extra, you can get locally-made maple syrup. If you’re lucky, you might also get the chance to snag a slice of one of their homemade, fresh-baked pies. They don’t last long.
