Mission Statement

Our mission is to enrich the lives of our users through innovative services and quality resources. Through information, education and recreation, we seek to stimulate creativity, intellectual curiosity, and to be a center for lifelong learning in the Greater Pittston Community.

The Pittston Area Memorial Library is a local hub for learning. They offer programs and resources to educate and entertain people of all ages.

The Pittston Area Memorial Library is part of the Luzerne County Library System. A library card provides free access to the library’s expansive collection of books, e-books, DVDs and audiobooks. They also offer public computers and free Wi-Fi.

The library frequently hosts events and programs for kids, teens and adults. Their children’s programming is especially vibrant, including storytime sessions, STEAM activities and reading groups. The library is also home to the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Children’s Wing, which is filled with books and interactive toys.
