Mission Statement
The Friends of Howland Preserve is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works in partnership with the North Branch Land Trust to preserve the natural beauty, historical structures and conservation value of the Howland Preserve and maintain the property for the benefit of the public.
The Friends of Howland Preserve is a group of volunteers that protects and enhances the Howland Preserve in Tunkhannock. They work alongside the North Branch Land Trust, which owns the land.
The Howland Preserve is a 669-acre property on the Vosburg Neck, a scenic oxbow on the Susquehanna River. The Friends of Howland Preserve maintain the grounds, hiking and biking trails, boat launch and historic buildings on the property. Thanks to their work, the preserve is open to the public daily from dawn until dusk.
