Mission Statement

Started in 1956 as a gathering of the arts, the Fine Arts Fiesta has recognized since its foundation the need for a community to come together to celebrate diversity, talent, passion and friendship.

Fine Arts Fiesta | Celebrating creativity & community in Wilkes-Barre

Fine Arts Fiesta in Wilkes-Barre is a beloved annual arts festival showcasing the region’s rich creative spirit. Founded in 1956 by Annette Evans and Alfred Groh, this nonprofit event takes place each May on Public Square and draws more than 60,000 attendees over four days. The celebration brings people of all ages together through fine art, live performances and family-friendly activities.

Art, Music & Local Talent

The Fine Arts Fiesta shines a spotlight on both student and professional artists. Juried shows invite community members to submit work in painting, photography, sculpture and more. Over 50 artists and crafters also exhibit and sell their creations throughout the square. The event’s performing arts lineup features musicians, dancers and entertainers who fill the streets with energy and excitement.

A Lasting Cultural Tradition

As one of the longest-running festivals in the region, the event continues to foster appreciation for local art and cultural expression. The festival also supports downtown revitalization and serves as an inclusive gathering place for families, artists and visitors.

The Fine Arts Fiesta remains a cherished Wilkes-Barre tradition that celebrates artistic expression and community connection each spring.
