Mission Statement

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to help young people make ethical choices over the course of their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Council of Boy Scouts of America serves nearly 6,500 youth and adult volunteers in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wayne, Wyoming and parts of Susquehanna and Pike Counties.

The Council is headquartered in Moosic, about halfway between the greater Scranton and Wilkes Barre areas. They operate two spectacular, year-round camp properties: Goose Pond Scout Reservation near Hamlin and Camp Acahela in Blakeslee.
