Due to coronavirus concerns, this event has been postponed.
The signature green, white, and orange of the Irish occupies the streets of Wilkes-Barre during the city’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade!
Festivities commence on the Sunday before the Feast of St. Patrick at 10 a.m. with the Renal Race, a 3.1 mile run to raise awareness and funds for kidney cancer research. Parade-goers can then enjoy activities and entertainment that are infused with Irish heritage as they await the start of the procession.
At 2 p.m., the parade begins at the intersection of South and South Main Street, marches down South Main to Public Square, past the F.M. Kirby Center, and finishes off at the corner of North Main and Union Street. Onlookers can enjoy the melodious sounds of pipe and drum bands, Irish step dancers, floats, and much more to celebrate the legacy and tradition of the Irish culture.
Stick around, because once the parade comes to an end, the real fun begins as green-clad patrons flood local establishments to indulge in plenty of food, spirits and revelry.
