Miles of Inspiring Lake Views Await.
Tag along for a perfect sunny day hike along the Wallenpaupack Lake Trail.
Enjoy year-round views of the famous Lake Wallenpaupack on this easily accessible trail. The Wallenpaupack Lake Trail is a 2.6-mile, out and back loop situated along the far northeast corner of the lake. You can access the trailhead in a parking lot less than a mile south of the Rt. 6 and Rt. 507 interchange. The relatively flat trail features a crushed stone and wood chip surface, and it is popular among runners and hikers alike.
The Wallenpaupack Lake Trail offers walkers, runners and cyclists an unmatched view of the rolling hilltops of the Pocono Mountains. You can also catch stunning lake sunsets, a cool, constant breeze and quite a few incredible photo opportunities. And when it’s time to rest, grab a seat on one of the benches along the top of the levee.
Take time to explore expansive, rocky beaches all throughout the trail. Small detours along the route allow access to the water for a little rock stacking or stone skipping. The Wallenpaupack Lake Trail is an ideal Pocono stop for fresh air, beautiful mountain and lake views and a little exercise.
We checked it out on a breezy, sunny day recently. Take a look:
