United Way of Wyoming Valley is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization in Wilkes-Barre that raises and distributes funds for community needs. Funds are raised through workplace campaigns, special events, corporate and planned giving programs, and individual gifts. United Way of Wyoming Valley impacts the local community in the areas of education, income, and health.

After taking into consideration all of the needs of the community, they allocate funds to specific programs. The volunteer review process operates on a strict system of checks and balances that ensures that the desired results are achieved. They unite this range of people to tackle some of life’s most important issues and produce positive and meaningful results. Since this branch of United Way was founded in 1921, they have evolved and changed with the times to continuously serve their community’s needs.
