Crystal clear waters tumble down Ganoga Falls and splash into a pool below.

At 94 feet tall, Ganoga Falls is the tallest waterfall at Ricketts Glen State Park, which spans across Luzerne, Sullivan, and Columbia Counties and is open year-round. Ganoga Falls is just one of more than 20 waterfalls that make up the Glens Natural Area. This nationally recognized area makes Ricketts Glen a must-see attraction.

From March-November, the park holds guided hikes, wildlife talks, kids’ programs, and other educational demonstrations.

Ricketts Glen’s hiking trails boast incredible views. The famous Falls Trail guides hikers along the waterfalls and rocky hillsides. The trail is challenging, but worth the trek. The Grand View Trail leads to the peak of Red Rock Mountain. The summit overlooks miles of trees and mountains, which are especially stunning in autumn. The Highland Trail features the Midway Crevasse, a passageway between two giant rocks. Other trails pass unique rock formations and centuries-old forests. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife. The park includes habitats for at least 75 species of migratory birds.

After a hike, rest on the beach or cool off with a swim in Lake Jean. Enjoy lunch at one of the lakeside picnic tables, or visit the snack bar for sandwiches, drinks, and ice cream. The lake also has two boat launches, and rowboats, paddleboats, kayaks, and canoes are available for rent.

Can’t see the whole park in one day? The park offers several camping options to those who want to bring their own tents and trailers or reserve a cabin.
