Jim Thorpe is known for being the gem of the Southern Pocono Mountains year-round. We figured what better way to celebrate the winter season than to take a trip down for their Annual Winterfest. The festival is a weekend-long event filled with live entertainment, train rides, ice carvings and horse-drawn carriage rides.

You also can’t forget their famous Mug Walk. Participants can take their official Jim Thorpe souvenir mug all throughout town to participating shops and restaurants, where they’ll receive gifts, sweets, special discounts and more.

Visitors can also wander along some of the town’s iconic streets like Broadway, West Broadway and Race Street. The Victorian architecture is all the more stunning with the winter scenery.
