NEPA Weekend Round-Up 03.11.22

Celebrate St. Paddy's Day with Parades, Parties and a Celtic Rock Show or Two

Break out your favorite green ensemble for NEPA’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. The Scranton St. Patrick’s Parade keeps festivities going all day long in the Electric City. You can even swing by the Scranton Cultural Center for an afterparty. Then, Wilkes-Barre gets in the Irish spirit with the annual parade around Public Square. If you still haven’t had enough craic, you can rock out with Kilmaine Saints and The Tartan Terrors at Mauch Chunk Opera House.

This weekend has some great date night ideas. A Five Course Wine Pairing at Mountain View Vineyard is the perfect excuse to get all dressed up for a fancy meal. Or, keep things classy at NEPA Philharmonic’s Celebrating Beethoven, an evening of beautiful orchestral sounds at the Kirby Center for the Creative Arts.

Head to one of the area’s many live shows for a blast from the past. The Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre’s production of Footloose features all your favorite 80s hits. Meanwhile, It Was 50 Years Ago today brings the iconic music of The Beatles to Penn’s Peak.

The Mohegan Sun Arena has a weekend of fun in store. Award-winning comedian John Mulaney returns to NEPA, this time with his “From Scratch” tour. And, of course, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins take to the ice for matches against the Laval Rocket and Hartford Wolfpack.
