Jim Thorpe Fall Foliage Festival

There are only a few prime weekends to truly enjoy NEPA’s peak fall foliage.

Luckily, the quaint town of Jim Thorpe hosts their annual Fall Foliage Festival on the first three weekends in October

While the trees are the main attraction during festival weekends, the fun certainly doesn’t stop there.

The Jim Thorpe Fall Foliage Festival brings together a multitude of activities and entertainment. Visitors can shop to their heart’s content at over 50 local stores and vendors. You’ll find it all from new, old and used books to antiques and handcrafted soaps just to name a few.

Experience Jim Thorpe in new and exciting ways.

Join up with a local ghost tour, check out the town’s history at one of several museums or peruse some great, local art. And, of course, you can always slap on a helmet and take the to the road in a truly unique sightseeing tour.  Then, take a break and enjoy some live, local music at any one of four stages throughout town.

There's So Much More To Do Just Off The Beaten Path

With a nickname like “The Gateway to The Poconos,” there’s bound to be some outdoor adventure.

You can save the shopping and sightseeing for the late afternoon and spend your morning rafting the mighty Lehigh River. Or hop on a bike and immerse yourself in the grandeur of the scenic Lehigh Gorge State Park.

Admit it. You really only came for the food.

Finally, after all of the adventure, shopping and sightseeing, it’s time to sit down, enjoy a drink and a warm, comforting meal.

You’ll find few chain eateries in this town. All of the restaurants up and down West Broadway and Race Street are authentic, original and local. From steak and pizza to fine dining, food lovers will find little trouble pleasing their palates.

Don't miss it!

The Jim Thorpe Fall Foliage Festival will run on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the first three weeks of October.

Plan ahead and leave early as traffic into town can get congested at times. There is plenty of metered parking throughout town and a large main lot with shuttle service.

While visiting don’t forget to vote for your favorite scarecrow. Spooky and not-so-scary straw figures will be placed throughout Jim Thorpe’s Historic District. The festival’s famous Scarecrow Contest offers lucky voters the chance to win an authentic Jim Thorpe gift basket.

Enjoy the colors, flavors, and the tradition of the Jim Thorpe Fall Foliage Festival this October.
