From New York to Scranton: National Broadway Tours in NEPA
As I look at my five years of being Executive Director at Broadway Theatre League of NEPA, I look back at a blur of exciting shows and wonderful people. A pandemic that shook the Broadway industry and the wonderful chance to build our future. We are kicking off our 63rd year as an organization that brings National Broadway Tours to our community. The story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan comes to town November 4th.
Get On Your Feet With the Songs of Gloria Estefan
On Your Feet is a musical that features the music of superstar Gloria Estefan. It tells the story of her life, which features humble beginnings, growing superstardom, a life tragedy that almost ended her career, and a story of redemption. All these events are told set to the soundtrack of her greatest musical hits. The singing and dancing performed by this cast will be spectacular. So, you will get “On Your Feet” and the “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You!” We are very excited to start our season with this wonderful show, which is performing its premiere in NEPA after a solid Broadway run. The show runs Friday, November 4th at 8 p.m., Saturday the 5th at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday the 6th at 1 p.m.
Elle Woods Brings Beauty, Brains and Lots of Pink
In Legally Blonde – The Musical
On December 2nd we are presenting Legally Blonde – The Musical, the story of Elle Woods captured so lovingly in the movie starring Reese Witherspoon. The musical is really a favorite of people of all ages. The characters will capture your hearts, too. The clever story of the movie is presented in a musical format with singing, dancing and a great big scoop of comedy. It is a show that will leave you in a great mood. And yes, Elle’s dog also makes an appearance in the show. Legally Blonde runs Friday, December 2nd at 8 p.m., Saturday the 3rd at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday the 4th at 1 p.m.

This year, in addition to On Your Feet in November and Legally Blonde in December, we will also present Anastasia January 27th-29th, Riverdance March 17th-19th, and Fiddler on the Roof April 21st-23rd.
Season passes are on sale now through November 4th. Season tickets include the four shows, excluding Riverdance, which can be added on for an additional fee. As season passholders, you have many privileges. You’ll get the same great seats for every show. The chance to renew your seats every year. The ability to exchange tickets due to conflict. And first chance to purchase tickets to any “extra” shows that we bring into NEPA.
Bringing a National Broadway Tour to our area is not only our mission, but it is also our passion. Watching our audiences walk into the theatre with such anticipation and leave with smiles on their faces is perhaps the most rewarding part of the job.
