A little snow and cold temps just aren’t enough to keep us from heading out for some classic NEPA winter fun. Check out these 10 awesome cold weather activities.

1. Snow Tubing
Bundle up the kids and enjoy some of the largest snowtubing parks in the country. Most of NEPA’s popular ski resorts offer tubing throughout the entire ski season.

2. Snowboarding
Grab your board and shred down the slopes at all 8 NEPA ski resorts: Big Boulder Ski Resort, Blue Mountain Resort, Camelback Resort, Elk Mountain, Jack Frost Ski Resort, Montage Mountain Resorts, Shawnee Mountain Ski Area and Ski Big Bear.

Experience over 200 miles of meticulously-maintained snowmobile/ATV trails in Wayne and Susquehanna counties. All snowmobiles, ATVs and UTVs utilizing the trail system must be registered with NEPA Sno & ATV Trails.

Nothing restores the soul quite like a snowy, winter hike in the quiet woods. Head to NEPA’s local, state and national parks for stunning views, a little peace and quiet and maybe a peek at some brave winter wildlife.

If you’re brave enough, take a frosty plunge in the icy waters of a NEPA lake. Every winter, a handful of NEPA organizations challenge residents to take a chilly dip to benefit great local causes.

A few inches of snow on the ground, doesn’t mean you can’t hit the trails. Take on NEPA’s frozen wilderness with a pair of snowshoes. The region’s abundance of state parks and rail trails make for perfect snowshoe adventures.
