Discover the beauty of the Endless Mountains at the Woodbourne Preserve.

Woodbourne Forest and Wildlife Preserve in Dimock offers four hiking trails and 648 acres of wilderness to explore. The preserve proudly contains part of NEPA’s largest remaining old-growth forests. Take the Cope’s Ramble trail to admire the dense, awe-inspiring woodlands and ancient hardwoods. Woodbourne Forest and Wildlife Preserve also features a tranquil wetland habitat, which you can view from the Swamp Loop trail. The wetlands are home to plenty of wildlife, so keep your eyes peeled for frogs and salamanders. Come in the spring to hike through fields of wildflowers. Visit in the winter to go snowshoeing or cross-country skiing on the peaceful, snow-covered trails.

Be sure to bring your binoculars because the preserve is a hotspot for birding. Birdwatchers have spotted more than 180 species on the preserve. The Pennsylvania Game Commission even named it one of the top 100 birding locations in the state.

Check out their calendar for guided nature walks, educational workshops, and children’s programs. Woodbourne Forest and Wildlife Preserve is open year-round.
