Winterfest is Jim Thorpe’s annual winter fun festival held in mid-February. Winterfest is the perfect event for families and people all of all ages – it is truly a winter activity extravaganza! Attendees can enjoy train rides on the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway with round trips lasting 70 minutes. There is a magic show, ice and wood carving demonstrations, and horse and carriage rides. There are over thirty-five unique stores for shopping and over a dozen great restaurants and eateries for attendees to enjoy. One of the most popular activities at the Winterfest is the Annual Mug Walk. Participants pick up their mugs, a map, and a list of participating business, and they can collect goodies along way.
