Arts & Culture: Museums & Galleries
Discover Natural History, Science, & Art
Located in Scranton’s Nay Aug Park, the Everhart Museum is engaging and educational for all ages. This nonprofit museum was founded in 1908, making it one of the oldest museums in Pennsylvania.
With over a dozen galleries, the Everhart opens up doors to the arts, sciences, and natural history. The most popular collection is the Bird Gallery, which was inspired by founder Dr. Isaiah Fawkes Everhart’s passion for ornithology. The Fossil Gallery is a favorite with the kids (make sure to say hi to Spike the stegosaurus). Several fine art galleries display works from around the world, from renown masters to regional artists.
There’s always something new at the Everhart. Don’t miss their rotating exhibitions and traveling shows. They also host educational programs and workshops for kids, teens, and adults.
