Sweeney’s Beach in Scranton provides an access point to the Lackawanna River. This park is located on the east bank of the river in the Pine Brook neighborhood. It offers a boat launch that’s perfect for kayaks and canoes. It’s also a popular fishing spot, especially during trout season.
The Lackawanna River Conservation Association has restored Sweeney’s Beach and turned it into a destination for outdoor recreation. They host several events there, including their annual Riverfest and the Shiverfest kayak race.
