Everyone’s Irish on Parade Day!
Irish eyes are smiling when it comes to the Scranton St. Patrick’s Parade, which is held every year on the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day. This occasion draws thousands of revelers every year, making it the second largest St. Patrick’s celebration in the country for a city of its size.
On “Parade Day,” the festivities get underway with a mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral at 10 a.m. The Brian P. Kelly Memorial 2-Mile Race begins at 11 a.m. and follows a portion of the parade route.
After the race, don your green and join thousands of spectators as the parade steps off at 11:45 a.m. This nationally acclaimed parade features over 12,000 participants including bagpipers, Irish step dancers, marching bands, local organizations, and more.
The parade starts at the corner of Wyoming Avenue and Mulberry Street and proceeds throughout downtown Scranton. It ends at the corner of North Washington Street and Vine Street.
