It’s a classic American drive-in restaurant complete with carhop service. Ranch Wagon in NEPA’s Back Mountain has been serving up hot dogs and other home cooked fast food for 60 years, but their claim to fame is the long dog.

It was 1955 when 16-year-old Allan Roberts needed a summer job and opened a simple hot dog stand. The locals fell in love with the place and the food, and it’s been a go-to for quick, good eats ever since.

Allan Roberts, Jr., and his wife, have added window service, curb service at your car, and fresh air dining in a gazebo, as well as a second express location and catering to the list of ways you can enjoy dining at Ranch Wagon.

Menu Highlights

Still at the top of its menu is that famous long hot dog. It’s followed by quick bites like oven roasted pork BBQ, all beef burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, French fries, homemade soups, bacon and garlic Mac & Cheese, and the Ranch Wagon’s very own secret recipe “Puffins”.  Don’t forget to save room for a milkshake made with dairy fresh ice cream from the locally owned and operated Blue Ribbon Dairy.
