Pittston City St. Patrick’s Parade
Pittston, PA
Leisure, Shopping & Fun: Fairs & Festivals
Irish culture rolls into the city of Pittston with its annual St. Patrick’s Parade each March. For a city that typically expresses its love for the tomato, Pittston really knows how to don its Irish green! The festivities kick off at 11 a.m. with the Leprechaun Loop, a one-mile run/walk that follows the same route as the parade. Grab your kilt or best Irish-inspired getup because the top runners—both overall and within each age group—AND the best three costumes will be awarded prizes.
At noon, event attendees can enjoy the harmonies of fife and drum bands, Irish dancers, amazing floats, and more during the parade procession that begins at the intersection of South Main and East Frothingham Street and loops around onto Kennedy Boulevard. The celebration doesn’t stop there, because when the parade ends, the sea of green is encouraged to patronize local businesses and restaurants to enjoy food and drinks!
