New American Comfort Food
Peculiar Kitchen is the latest adventure for the Peculiar Culinary team. Formerly known as Peculiar Slurp, this destination restaurant in downtown Scranton serves New American Comfort Food with a serious passion for Asian flair. They offer dishes for meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans. They can also accommodate dietary restrictions like gluten free, paleo and keto.
Favorites from the noodle shop are still on the menu, but the new, refreshed brand offers more than ramen. Their love for other cuisines has inspired Peculiar Kitchen to open the culinary floodgates and create an innovative menu. They also serve a selection of craft beers, local wine and signature cocktails.
The atmosphere at Peculiar Kitchen is hip, funky, artistic, vibrant and relaxed. The restaurant is great for families, individuals and couples alike. They offer indoor table seating, counter seating at the open kitchen or limited seating on the outdoor patio.
Reservations are accepted. Takeout and online ordering are available through their website or on the Toast app.
Menu Highlights
Start off with shareables like the Spicy Tuna Wonton Tacos or the Crispy Fried Duck Wings. When it comes to their popular bowls, try the Pork Belly Shoyu Ramen.
Handhelds are perfect for lunch or dinner. The sweet and salty Bao Buns are a must-try. Or order the Middleswarth BBQ Nashville Hot Chicken, a fried chicken sandwich that combines gourmet toppings with NEPA’s favorite potato chips.
For large plates, you can’t go wrong with the peppercorn tarragon crusted Steak Frites.
