Resembling somewhat a house mid-renovation, this classic, no frills neighborhood bar delivers on every level. From the inspiring line up of craft beers to the simple, greasy one-hand bar burger, Jack’s Draft House understands easy. And that is the essence of the customer experience at Jack’s – just plain easy.
Guests are welcome to grab a stool, pile into a table or just chill out in the semi-hidden lounge. Some come to Jack’s for the beer, some for the tacos or the burgers. Before they leave, most have had all three. It’s a small kitchen joint, so the menu is simple. But great pride and care go into every dish.
The décor at Jack’s is comfortable and unguarded with beat up wood beams and an exquisitely exposed stone foundation wall backing the bar. The space itself is communal yet offers the option of intimacy if desired. Just be wary of all the wandering eyes of the famous Jack’s adorning the walls.
Jack’s Draft House is recognizable. It’s accessible. It’s on an unassuming corner in an old-school, working-class Scranton neighborhood. If a little bar could ever take on the characteristics of a place, Jack’s is Scranton.
Stop by for a beer and a burger, and when you do ask Big Jim for the old industry handshake (a beer and a shot).
