The Only Building in the World Dedicated to Harry Houdini

The Houdini Museum. Tour & Magic Show in Scranton offers a full afternoon of family fun. Located in a 100-year-old house, the nonprofit museum pays tribute to the famous escape artist Harry Houdini, who spent part of his career performing in the Electric City.

The museum is full of Houdini artifacts and memorabilia. Your tour guide will tell you amazing stories and facts about Houdini’s life. You’ll also watch a short film that includes rare footage of Houdini’s incredible feats.

The tour includes a one-hour magic show. Don’t be surprised if you’re asked to come onstage and help out with the act!

Be sure to visit around Halloween, when the museum hosts a spooky séance and paranormal shows.

There’s so much to see, so plan to spend at least two and a half hours at the Houdini Museum. They’re open daily from July 1 through Labor Day and on weekends throughout the rest of the year. Call or check online to confirm operating hours.
