Meet over 100 animals and have some high-flying fun on the zipline course at Elmwood Park Zoo.
A lot has changed since Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown opened in 1924. Back then, it was just a small property with a herd of white-tailed deer. Today the zoo spans 16 acres and is home to over 100 species. You’ll spot monkeys, otters, wolves, eagles, jaguars, cougars, alligators, and other exotic creatures. Don’t be shy; at this zoo, you can interact with the animals. Try hand-feeding a giraffe or bison, or walk through a tropical habitat in the Birds of Paradise aviary exhibit.
Want a different view of the zoo? Soar through the sky with Elmwood’s Treetop Adventures, which features ropes courses and ziplines for all ages. Reservations are highly recommended.
Elmwood Park Zoo is open year-round. It is wheelchair and stroller accessible, and it is conveniently located near the King of Prussia Mall, Valley Forge National Historical Park, and other attractions.
