The Eastern Monroe Public Library has been serving Monroe County for over 100 years. With your library card, you receive access to thousands of books, DVDs, audiobooks, CDs, and other print and digital resources. Downloadable content like e-books, e-audiobooks, videos, and more allow you to take the library everywhere you go.

The main Hughes branch in Stroudsburg features meeting spaces, study rooms, a children’s library, and a café. Their wide array of free programs includes classes and cultural events for kids, teens, and adults. It’s also home to the local history and genealogy room, which is full of historic books, newspapers, and other records related to Monroe County.

The library also operates the Pocono Township Branch in Tannersville, the Smithfields Branch in East Stroudsburg, and a Bookmobile that brings the library into the community.
