A Modern Twist on a Green Ridge Landmark

Dutchie’s in Scranton is a family friendly restaurant known for their pizza and subs. This shop pays homage to local history while still offering a fresh, modern vibe.

The building has been a pizza shop for decades, and Dutchie’s keeps that tradition alive with their square and round pizzas. The checkout counter is also a shoutout to the past—it’s actually a Prohibition-Era bar from when the building was once a speakeasy.

Beyond the pizza, Dutchie’s also serves subs and sandwiches, from classic Italian hoagies and cheesesteaks to creative options like the southwest Texas weiner and the roast pork sandwich. Fresh, gourmet salads offer plenty of healthy options too. “Big Plates” are available for dinnertime, featuring entrees like their irresistible crab cakes, grilled pork tenderloin, lemon chicken, and more.

Menu Highlights

Dutchie’s is named after Donald “Dutch” Mayer, the owner of the old Mayer’s Place bar of North Scranton. That said, you have to order a tray of the MPP (that’s short for Mayer’s Place Pizza). It’s a throwback that you just can’t miss.
