Discover the Wetlands & Forests

Butler Preserve in Hazle Township spans across 118 acres of land along the Dreck Creek Reservoir. This serene nature preserve is owned by North Branch Land Trust and is open to the public.

The preserve is home to rare scrub oak barrens and abundant wetlands. Visitors can access the preserve through the Greater Hazleton Rails to Trails, which intersects the property for about a half mile. The trail provides excellent opportunities for hiking and biking, while the rich habitat is ideal for birdwatching.
