A portion of the D&L (Delaware & Lehigh) Trailhead, locally known as Black Diamond Trail, runs from White Haven to Mountain Top. The segment is 9.2 miles of scenic ponds and bogs and is replete with diverse trees and wildlife. The surface is mostly crushed stone and has a steeper grade than other local trails. If you are looking for a challenge or for various activities including fishing, mountain biking, walking, and cross-country skiing, check out Black Diamond Trail. Wearing orange is recommended during hunting season, as state game lands border the trail.
In Mountain Top, access Black Diamond Trail just south of the Hose Company, on Route 437 (Woodlawn Avenue), just south of the intersection with Route 309 (North Mountain Boulevard). In White Haven, access the trail from Route 940 (Berwick Street) by turning north onto Main Street and taking it to its end. Parking is on the right.
