Toys for Tots Foundation

Mission Statement

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

The Wyoming, PA Toys for Tots campaign covers Bradford, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, and Wyoming Counties. In Northeastern Pennsylvania, Toys for Tots distributes more than 35,000 toys, games, stocking stuffers, and books annually.

Nationally, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program annually collects and distributes 18 million toys to 7 million less fortunate children allowing them to experience the joy of Christmas and receive a message of hope that otherwise would not have been there. This community action program takes place in 792 communities covering all 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

The Toys for Tots Foundation conducts an aggressive public information and education program to encourage Americans to get involved with the Marine Toys for Tots Program. This annual campaign brings communities together to help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children. Marines together with tens of thousands of volunteers make a difference in the lives of these children through the collection and distribution of toys and by their selfless personal example. This community action effort assists and guides these children, helping them to develop into responsible, productive citizens.

In Northeastern Pennsylvania, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve stores all of its toys year-round in warehouse space donated by Robert K. Mericle.
