Mission Statement

The mission of the Scranton Cultural Center is to enrich our community through culturally diverse programming and events while preserving a national historic treasure.

The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple (SCCMT) functions as a regional performance and cultural hub. SCCMT contains two theaters, a grand ballroom, meeting rooms and other areas and rooms.

The center is housed in a historic, splendid piece of architecture that was originally The Masonic Temple and Scottish Rite Cathedral. Today, the Center serves as the residence for national tours of Broadway musicals and concerts and hosts many of the area’s top regional companies. It also has kept to its earliest purposes by continuing to serve as the center of Masonic activity in the region.

They seek to rejuvenate a national architectural treasure as a regional center for the arts, education and community activity appealing to everyone. They are also committed to offering arts-integrated experiences to regional school districts, home school groups and charter schools, as well as to the community at large.
