The Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress works to make Hazleton an exciting, safe and vibrant place to live, work and visit. The group consists of representatives from the public and private sectors, including the city government, chamber of commerce, nonprofits, colleges and community groups.

They also play a key role in organizing community events like the First Friday art walks and the Downtown Hazleton Farmer’s Market.
