IN CONCERT: Tony Lustig Trio
Tony Lustig, one of the strongest modern voices of the baritone saxophone, plays with passion, determination and integrity, following in the sonic footsteps of Gerry Mulligan, Pepper Adams, Harry Carney, and Joe Temperley. A graduate of both Michigan State University and The Juilliard School, he has played with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Jon Hendricks Octet, Count Basie Orchestra, and Christian McBride Big Band, Louis Cole, Jon Batiste, Leslie Odom, Jr., the house band of America’s Got Talent, and Patti Austin, among many others. His memorable compositions and moving sound are showcased on his debut album, “Taking Flight”. He is currently the house composer for the Providence Ballet Theatre.
