Scranton’s inaugural year of its annual flower show hosted by Scranton Municipal Recreation Authority.

With competitions for blooms, floral designs, potted arrangements and children’s categories for miniature/fairy gardens and the largest sunflower. Specialized growers and artisan vendors will be alongside food vendors, local gardening and environmental societies, charities and organizations. The day will start with a pre-show guided tour of the park. During the show volunteer custodians of Nay Aug will be there to proudly talk about the memorial gardens, the Greenhouse Project, the American Chestnut Grove, the Brooks Mine, and the Butterfly Garden. Street Cats will have a special cat adoption day, there’ll be live music, the Everhart Museum is offering free admission and guided tours, and of course the Black Watch Cafe will be open.

Schedule:
6:30am – Show opens to volunteers, vendors & participants only.
8am – 9am – Competitor’s deliver exhibits to the Bandstand, the Marmi & Gentile Pavilions.
9am – 10am – Judging.
10am – Welcome by Bob Gattens, Chairman Scranton Municipal Recreation Authority.
Followed by Presentation to the Best in Show Winner.
11am – 3:30pm – Gardening and Floral Workshops in the Bandstand.
4pm – Show closes and competitors may claim their exhibits.
