Have you ever been interested in cycling but weren’t sure about what adaptations are available or where to start? Are you interested in checking out new and various types of adaptive cycling equipment? Or are you interested in just getting out to ride and chat with other cyclists? Well, they have the event for you. For this event, they will be collaborating with the Lackawanna Heritage Valley (LHV) and Bike-On to create an opportunity to learn more about adaptive cycling. Bike-On will be bringing a variety of different adaptive equipment for people to check out, including recumbent bikes, handcycles, and some other exciting and innovative options, like the Bowhead Reachand Freedom Trax. There will also be recumbent bikes and handcycles available from LHV and I AM for participants of this event to try.
This event will be taking place in conjunction with the LHV’s Heritage Explorer Bike Tour. This event is fun, family-friendly, and non-competitive. It offers riders of all ages and abilities the chance to ride along the Heritage Trail. There will also be food and other fun interactive activities for families to enjoy. The bike tour runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and the adaptive cycling expo will run from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. We encourage you to check out the LHV’s webpage for more information about the tour, or to register if you wish to participate in the ride. I AM will cover the cost of registration for members and an additional guest. Reimbursement will be provided upon confirmation of registration from LHV.
COVID Guidelines: There will be assistance available for those who need it. Masks must be worn by both participants and University of Scranton students when working in close contact for transfers and set-up.
