We’ve partnered with Family Service Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania, a not-for-profit, non-sectarian organization that provides diverse services to children, individuals, seniors and families, to share the details on their upcoming Spring Fling fundraiser and auction.

Building Stronger Communities

“It changed my life for the better.”

“No one cared before today. Thank you for being here.”

“I can now be a better parent and have a stronger family.”

These are just a few of the sentiments shared by families involved with services at Family Service Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania (FSA NEPA). A local not-for-profit started in 1895, while FSA NEPA’s programs have evolved over time, one thing has stayed the same – the dedication to strengthening families and our community.

FSA serves families across the lifespan. Several programs focus on family engagement efforts in partnership with local entities to ensure safety and permanency of children, family reunification and out-of-home placement prevention, family strengthening, and resource coordination. FSA also runs a child advocacy center that serves Susquehanna and Wyoming counties. FSA houses PA 211 Northeast/Help Line. This 24/7 program provides after hours service, telephone crisis, and information/referral services.

FSA Spring Fling & Online Auction

FSA is holding their annual Spring Fling on Thursday, April 18 at the F.M. Kirby Center, as well as an online auction, which runs from April 14-19. Auction items range from gift cards to recreational activities and experiences, and can all be bid on throughout the week. Simon & Co. Jeweler’s is sponsoring the Gallery of Dreams raffle. One lucky winner will walk away with $1000 gift certificate to Simon & Co. that will be raffled of at the Spring Fling.

One hundred precent of auction proceeds go directly to FSA NEPA. The community’s support will allow us to provide services to children, individuals, seniors, and families, empowering them to achieve their full potential through building healthier relationships and stronger communities.

The Spring Fling will focus on the work and mission of FSA while also honoring Fork over Love and Lissa Bryan-Smith. Fork Over Love is being honored with the Anna Bertels Community Service Award, given to those dedicated to improving the lives of families and individuals in our community. Fork Over Love has an incredible mission of feeding those in need while simultaneously supporting local restaurants. Their impact has been incredible while also being a partner of FSA NEPA.

Lissa Bryan-Smith is being honored with the John N. Conyngham Leadership Award, given to an individual or organization for distinguished leadership and commitment to strengthening families in our community. Lissa has been an impactful leader, volunteer, and local philanthropist serving on multiple community boards, projects, and committees. Her dedication to our community is truly unmatched.

When choosing honorees, FSA NEPA not only focuses on the impact they have had on the organization, but also the community as a whole – which is why Fork over Love and Lissa Bryan-Smith are two incredible honorees, as they are allies in the effort to strengthen families and communities.

The community and its support of this event not only helps to raise funds vital to the longevity of its programs and operations, but also awareness – so that FSA NEPA continues to reach as many individuals as possible.
