Holiday bells will ring a bit early in the Electric City this year as we kick off the season with Light Up Downtown Scranton on November 1. Our annual holiday campaign encourages everyone to support local during the holiday season through a series of fun initiatives that run through the New Year. Here are a few highlights of what’s coming your way:

Downtown Drive-Thru
November 1 through January 7

We love the convenience of curbside, and we know you do, too! Our Downtown Drive-Thru initiative makes it easy to find all the businesses offering curbside pickup (in addition to indoor shopping and dining and online orders) during the holiday season.

Holiday Open House
November 7

Our Holiday Open House is filled with all the ingredients you need to spark holiday joy: shopping, dining, hot cocoa, strolling musicians – what more could you ask for? Gather your family and friends and get into the spirit of the season with a festive, fun-filled Sunday afternoon in Downtown Scranton.

‘Tis the Season Sundays
November 7 through January 2

Take advantage of holiday sales at participating businesses, and free parking on Sundays throughout the Downtown during ‘Tis the Season Sundays.

Holiday Window Showcase
November 24 through January 7

The Holiday Window Showcase is a staple of the holiday season in Downtown Scranton. You’ll enjoy magical holiday displays in dozens of stores, restaurants and offices in the heart of the business district. Displays open the night before Thanksgiving, making this a perfect way to celebrate the season with family and friends.

Black Friday
November 26

Downtown Scranton retailers and restaurants will offer seasonal promotions, gift cards, and more on one of the busiest shopping days of the year!

Small Business Saturday
November 27

Small Business Saturday is a day to support local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country. American Express created this national movement to increase sales for small businesses across the country, and we’re so proud to organize Downtown Scranton’s Small Business Saturday once again.

Participating businesses will offer special promotions and unique gifts in dozens of shops and eateries in the Downtown Scranton Business District. Don’t forget to spread the joy on social media using #shopsmall, #smallbiz, #shoplocal.

Cyber Monday
November 29

Support local from the comfort of your home, and with the ease of your phone, as local businesses participate in Cyber Monday. So make your list, check it twice, and be sure to charge your mobile devices and take advantage of Cyber Monday deals at your favorite shops and eateries.

Home for the Holidays
December 3 through 12

Attention, college students! This promotion is just for you. Before you head home for the holidays, enjoy special incentives and promotions from participating businesses in Downtown Scranton. All you have to do is show a valid student ID.
