Guided Tours Explore a Natural Wonder in the Poconos

We joined the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center for one of their Wednesday Bog Walks through the Tannersville Cranberry Bog Preserve. We explored the floating boardwalk bog trail and learned all about the interesting plants and wildlife in the area.

The 2.5-hour guided journey took us through the 150-acre wetland and relict boreal bog, which was once a glacial lake. Today, the bog stands out amongst the Pocono Mountains as one of the many hidden treasures in the area.

The Wednesday Bog Walks will continue every week through the autumn. The bog trail is only accessible during these guided walks, so we just had to see it for ourselves. Of course, we brought the camera along. Check it out!
