There’s Something Special About a Real, Freshly Cut Pennsylvania Christmas Tree
For some, it’s a holiday rite of passage. They stuff their kids into their puffiest winter coats, pile in the warm car and set out to find that one, truly perfect Christmas tree. For others, it’s simply about filling the house with that Christmas-y scent all month long.
For the good folks at Roba Family Orchard in Scott Twp., the Christmas season is all about families coming together and celebrating traditions, or creating new ones. Sure, their orchard is famous for its delicious fall apples and corn maze, but did you know they also sell Christmas trees?
Bring your gloves, a scarf and a warm hat, and they’ll provide the rest.
For a few weeks in late November and early December, Roba Family Orchard transforms into one of NEPA’s most beloved Christmas tree farms. Eager tree hunters from all across the region arrive in search of that one tree that defines Christmas. Whether it’s a sturdy Blue Spruce or a towering Douglas Fir, chances are they’ll find it at Roba’s.
It’s a “no hassle” experience. You simply show up, choose a tree, cut it down and they’ll handle all the rest. Enjoy a leisurely hayride from the parking lot to the nearly 100-acres of beautiful trees. Set out with your complimentary saw in hand and your tree cart in tow, and find that one tree that’s a perfect fit.
Attendants will assist you in loading the tree on the wagon. They’ll also shake the loose needles from the tree, wrap it for easy transport and drill it to fit beautifully in your stand.
Don’t have the time to cut down your own tree?
Don’t worry. Roba Family Farms, their North Abington Twp. location offers a full selection of those famously perfect Roba’s trees, and they’re pre-cut and ready to go.
You can also pop in the Old Barn Café & Bakery for a few of their delicious cider donuts. Eat them all in the car. No one has to know. Both locations also sell custom-made wreaths and tree stands.
Happy tree hunting!
