Here’s to the close of another great year in NEPA.
It’s almost time to wish 2022 farewell and usher in 2023 with anticipation. For some, it’s the end of yet another good year. And for others, it’s a chance to start fresh.
We’re honored you’ve stuck with us over the course of the year. Whether you’ve visited DiscoverNEPA for our calendar of events, found new restaurants for tasting or discovered new trails to explore, we thank you.
But for now, let’s celebrate the close of another year. And NEPA sure knows how to throw a party. We’ve rounded up a few of the funs things planned this NYE. And, of course, you can always check out our comprehensive calendar for even more events in 2023.
New Year’s Eve Events

Countdown to Noon
Bloomsburg, PA
Kids want in on the fun, too! Count down to noon at the Bloomsburg Children’s Museum’s fifth annual event with fun crafts, games and special musical guest Kerry Kenny starting at 10 a.m. This family-friendly event is included with general museum admission.

New Year’s Eve Run
Bloomsburg, PA
Lace up your shoes and finish out 2022 on the right foot at the Bloomsburg YMCA’s annual 5K. Race starts at 10 a.m. and the cost is $30 to participate.

NYE Kids Countdown on the Farm
Long Pond, PA
Toast the new year with sparking apple cider, celebration themed story time and a dance party at Pocono Organics starting at 11 a.m. Kids will make up-cycled noise makers and eco-friendly confetti to cap off their celebrations.

Public Skate
Pittston, PA
Glide into the new year at Revolution Ice Centre. Pack up the kids, lace up the skates and make it a fun family event during their public skate hours beginning at noon.

Back Mountain Trail 5K
Luzerne, PA
The Second Annual New Year’s Eve Back Mountain Trail 5K Race kicks off at 3 p.m. in Luzerne and takes participants of all skill levels through hills, valleys and mountain scenery. Race check-in begins at 3 p.m. and costs $30 to participate.

Live Music: Paul Knakk
Greentown, PA
Get the party started early with a live musical performance by Paul Knakk at the Promised Land Inn starting at 4 p.m. Born and raised in Bethlehem, Pa., Knackk has been making music for over a decade. After spending several years in Nashville, he’s returned home and released his debut album in 2022.

New Year’s Eve Dinner at Berrelli’s
Tannersville, PA
Make Berrelli’s New Year’s Eve five-course dinner a part of your celebration. Their scrumptious menu includes lobster bisque, eggplant roulade, grilled jumbo scallops, surf & turf and a trilogy of strawberry or espresso crème brûlée for dessert. Located within Camelback Resort, dining times are 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.

New Year’s Eve Beer Pairing and Dinner
Dallas, PA
Out with the old and in with the new over beers and bites at Backwoods Bar and Kitchen. Enjoy a five-course meal paired with hand select beers from Back Mountain Brewing Company. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. and costs $78 per person.

New Year’s Eve in “The Woods”
Wilkes-Barre, PA
The Woodlands is the place to be this NYE. Kick off the start to 2023 with an elegant white-glove five course dinner featuring surf & turf with entertainment by DJ Mike the Godfather at 7 p.m. Your ticket gets you five hours of open bar, midnight champagne toast and access to two parties under one roof – the New Year’s Eve Bash in Club Evolution and the Streamside Lounge.

Scranton Comedy Club’s NYE Party
Dunmore, PA
Five comedians and Ryan Leckey sound like the perfect way to cap off 2022. Join the local social media influencer as he hosts a night of laughs and fun alongside DJ HotSauce at the Scranton Comedy Club located inside the Holiday Inn. The party kicks off at 7 p.m. and includes a dinner buffet and champagne toast.

NYE Party at The 80’s Bar
Lansford, PA
There’s no better way to welcome 2023 than with dinner and a concert by award winning group, Two Taboo. The 80’s Bar is the place to be for incredible music and a fun atmosphere this NYE. Call ahead to make reservations. Dinner begins at 7 p.m. followed by the show.

NYE Rhythm & Brews: Sick Whiskey + Party with DJ Nick
Shawnee on Deleware, PA
Sick Whiskey, a psychedelic blues duo from East Stroudsburg, takes to the stage at ShawneeCraft Brewing Co. with their repertoire of original and covers of classic rock, blues and old school country tunes starting at 7 p.m. After the concert, beginning at 10 p.m., DJ Nick will keep the party going through midnight.

New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball
Hawley, PA
Don your best disguise and add a bit of whimsy to your New Year’s Eve celebration with a Masquerade Ball in the Undercroft at The Settlers Inn at Bingham Park. The Ball commences at 8 p.m. and features live music and farm-to-table dinner.

New Year’s Eve Gala
Milford, PA
If you need an excuse to dress up this December 31, the New Year’s Eve Gala at the Tom Quick Inn is your reason. Starting at 8 p.m., you can expect live music by Merchants of Groove, dancing, hors d’oeuvres, a dessert station, photo booth and champagne toast at midnight.

New Year’s Eve Dance Party With Hunkajunk

Get ready for a full-fledged dance party at the Mauch Chunk Opera House. Hunkajunk serves up hit after retro hit plus modern classics to keep you dancing from 9:30 p.m. right through to the new year.
