Wallenpaupack Brewing is Primed for Fall with a Spacious Patio and Tasty Slate of Seasonal Beers
Back in what we’re now calling “the forgotten spring,” we had a lunch date with the good folks at Wallenpaupack Brewing Company. We missed it, of course – along with so many other dreams. But here we are several months later. We reached out. They reached back. They told us all about their beautifully renovated patio and their new lineup of fall beers. And, before they could even finish the phrase Oktoberfest, we were like, “We’re in!” So, here we are.
Beer first. The flavors of fall are in the air, and the brew team here has found itself inspired. We tried the Lake Haze #12: Laketoberfest and found it a curiously delicious creation. The DIPA is a Frankenstein’s monster of traditional German ingredients and the hazy, hoppy tropicality of a NEIPA. We also sampled the Foliage Harvest Lager. The malty sweet, amber-hued beauty delivered with a light touch and a little kick of roasty-toastiness (new beer word – Look out!). There were several others, but I’m running out of space, and I have to talk about the patio.
It was also really cool… JK.
THIS… is how you do outdoor dining space. WBC’s already impressive interior opens up to the patio via two massive glass garage doors. The expansive dining extension offers tons of space to spread out. Classic picnic tables complete with umbrellas keep you safe from the sun. There are fire pits and a privacy fence to protect you from… Idk bears, I guess (it’s the Poconos). It’s just the perfect space for enjoying an autumn weekend with a couple tasty, local beers and a burger.
We popped in on Friday. The weather was perfect and sunny and so were our hosts. We also brought the camera along and snapped some pics. Check it out.
