Annual Tree Decorating Contest Raises Money for Local Nonprofits

Grotto Pizza in Harveys Lake is getting in the Christmas spirit with their 26th Annual Parade of Trees. Over two dozen Christmas trees are on display in the dining room, each one supporting a local charity.

Every year, NEPA businesses and community groups can decorate a tree in support of the local nonprofit of their choice. Then, restaurant customers have the chance to vote for their favorite by donating to the sponsored charity.

The trees earn one vote for every dollar donated. At the end of the contest, the charities will get to keep all the money raised from their votes. In addition, the Joseph and Erma Paglianite Charitable Foundation will add another $25,000 to the collected donations.

You can stop by Grotto Pizza in Harveys Lake, admire the trees and cast your votes now through New Year’s Eve. We visited to check out the dazzling display ourselves. Take a look at our photos for a glimpse inside.
